No collection would be complete without a few species from this diverse group. Many teal are very colorful, and unlike the very popular Wood duck and Mandarin many teal stay in color year round. Most teal are easy to keep and breed and suitable for the beginner. If kept on open water it is recommended that these birds be pinioned or at least kept wing clipped.  More information on each species can be found in the individual listings below.
